Once upon a time, a girl wanted to be a Queen, and one day she heard about a boy who had declared himself King.

And she asked him if she could be His.

Upon acknowledging the event the boy canceled all current affairs in order to go and consider this reQuest with His most intimate staff of intimates, St.omach, Head, Heart, Raising Skin Hair, and some of His bigger foes.

The girl was not wholly unfamiliar to Him, nor was He to Her, since they had met a couple of years earlier, when she was visiting the regions where he lived. Sure enough the impression the encounter had left was Fairly strong, and it still occupied a room  in Their mind’s castle.

The King sent His valets out to the countryside, so that He would have all the way cleared to go and inspect that room, to see if the linen was still fresh, if the windows needn’t be cleaned, if the greenery was flourishing. Yes He was in a hurry - or in a hourrah, we don’t know for sure which, because this story is so old it makes it difficult to check the words and the facts thoroughly.

And when He came to the door of that particular room in the Castle, he lowered his pace and softly pushed it open…

A grinning cat, the one from Alice’s Wonderland, appeared from out of the dark, sitting on a branch of a tree. The King was all sorts of emotions at once when he saw it before His eyes, as it reminded Him of the story He was quite fond of.

And He closed His eyes.

When he looked again, the cat was in the course of disappearing, and swiftly only a whim of a grin remained visible, until there was nothing but the darkness, utter dark, to be witnessed.

And we know not what the King experienced next in those remote parts of his abandoned Castle.

Did He become so small, as Alice sometimes did, in the face of Love? (yes)

The following words that the story tells us are these, transmitted to our worried minds for the today:

When the King reappeared in public, He took His buttocks quite elegantly to the throne, and spoke the following answer to the assembly of Presspeople:

“Yes”.

It was one word, and while there was some Pressing for more, the King would not add anything more to it, and He withdrew (elegantly again). The Presspeople went home with little to cite but that one clear word, but it satisfied their appetite nonetheless, Principally because it was a big change from the usual complexity and the sheer volume of all the indecisive and ambivalent matters that constantly needed to be commented and deciphered Everyday.

And the papers opened with yes printed from head to bottom and nothing else. It was quite elephant.

And from that day…

They lived happily…

Ever after.
